Basic Info
Name:Mia Fey
Birthdate:1985-04-15
Bio
Character: Mia Fey

Series: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Justice For All, Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations.

Version: Post-death from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Mia stuck around the PWverse postmortem for two years, channeled by her sister Maya, a spirit medium, before being drawn into the world of Paixao.

Age: 27 at death

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Straight, at least in practice. Mia thinks most women are beautiful, but only a man—only one man—has ever managed to make her burn inside.

Appearance: Mia Fey plays down her looks with her outfits, favoring trim black suits for appearing in court—though no one could fail to notice her copious cleavage. She’s fair-skinned with straight brown hair, parted on the side and worn to the middle of her back; her pretty face is accented by large brown eyes and a kind, good-natured smile. Everything about her seems warm and inviting, and with her long legs and full breasts, she can be very sexy when she wants to be. Mia dresses impeccably for work, but on her own time she likes to go casual with jeans and perhaps a fitted, button-down shirt. She favors jewelry and accessories, particularly a silk scarf around her neck and the very noticeable and mysterious pendant she wears at her throat.

Personality: Mia is essentially good-natured, a friendly and kind woman who tends to give people the benefit of the doubt. She has an instinct for spotting lies and trickery, not always entirely reliable, but when she believes someone is telling the truth she will stick by them till the end. This passion made her a popular defense attorney when she was alive; Mia is generally perceived as trustworthy, though the dishonest and manipulative may see her as naïve, and can take advantage of her if she isn’t careful.

Mia is driven by a fiery spirit and her determination to protect the innocent. Once she takes up someone’s cause, be it a client or a stranger she meets on the street, she will never abandon them or give up working to help them. This is not always a good thing; Mia has burned herself out on other peoples’ behalves, and when she fails she takes it terribly, often falling into a deep depression that is difficult to get out of. She has gotten better at recognizing hopeless cases, though she can still be a fall guy for a good sob story. Early on her determination was constantly getting her into trouble, but as she progressed in her career and in life she got better at recognizing when she is getting too emotionally involved in a situation and needs to back off.

As a first impression, Mia comes across as straightforward, friendly, and good-humored. She is honest and kind and will never try to make another person feel bad, but she’s no pushover. Watch out for her in the courtroom—she has claws.

Abilities/Weaponry: Mia’s abilities are fairly commonplace, though they have helped a great deal with her success as a defense attorney: she’s a good listener, a good debater, and has a knack for recognizing talent. Coming from a family of spirit mediums, she is also more open than some to spiritual and psychic matters; she can often sense the presence of supernatural beings such as ghosts and seems to be good at detecting people’s moods, perhaps by sensing their auras. These abilities are undeveloped, however, as she never received formal training.

Weaknesses: Mia’s greatest strengths—her passion and drive—are also her greatest weakness. Although Mia is usually able to work through trying situations with calmness and a smile, stress does get to her and often builds without her notice until it reaches a breaking point; this especially happens when she has set a goal for herself and finds that she’s unable to achieve it. Mia wants to be there for her clients and her friends, but when she burns herself out she’s no help to anyone, particularly herself.

History: Young and idealistic, Mia emerged from law school as a prodigy student and nailed her first position at the astounding age of 23, as a rookie defense lawyer under the tutelage of Marvin Grossberg and alongside attorneys Robert Hammond and Diego Armando. She remained at Grossberg and Co Law Offices for three years, and in her first year she and Diego became a couple—but that happy time was not fated to last, as Diego was poisoned and presumably killed six months later. Mia suspected young university student Dahlia Hawthorne, but was never able to prove her guilt.

One year later, however, Mia found herself facing her lover’s murderer in court when she was hired to defend Phoenix Wright, who was accused of the murder of a fellow student, Doug Swallow. Wright’s girlfriend—none other than Dahlia Hawthorne—was brought in to testify in the case, and the evidence was stacked highly against him. But Mia, suspecting Dahlia’s involvement in this murder case as well and determined to bring her down, fought passionately for Phoenix, and in the end managed not only to prove that Phoenix was innocent, but that Dahlia was the real murderer of Doug Swallow, and linked to the death of Diego Armando as well.

Having achieved some measure of closure in the case of her lover’s poisoning, Mia dedicated herself to becoming the best defense attorney she could be, fighting for her clients with the same passion and dedication she had shown in Phoenix Wright’s trial. She became well-respected in the legal world for her prowess and many successful cases, and only a few years later she left Grossberg and Co Law Offices to begin her own practice.

Then a face from her past suddenly reappeared—Phoenix Wright, the client she had proved innocent years ago, came to her door fresh from his graduation from university with a law degree of his own. Despite some initial misgivings, Mia became convinced that Phoenix had the makings of an excellent defense attorney and took him under her wing. A year’s patient mentorship and tutelage paid off when Phoenix won his own first trial, much to Mia’s pride. A bright future seemed in store for her and her young partner.

Her happiness was once again short-lived, as she herself became the victim of murder soon after Phoenix’s first success, for which her own sister Maya was blamed. But Mia was not ready to pass on just yet; with the help of her sister’s abilities as a channeler, she was able to help Phoenix prove Maya’s innocence and bring down her own murderer. For the next two years Mia stayed close to Phoenix and Maya, watching over them as Phoenix took over the law practice and went on to make a name for himself as a successful and passionate defense attorney. Maya, acting as Phoenix’s assistant, called on Mia’s help several times as new and difficult cases arose, and she was happy to be able to continue her work of fighting for the innocent—if from beyond the grave.

Recently, however, Mia found herself being drawn away from her sister and former protégé, as though she were being called to finally move on—and knowing, perhaps, that she couldn’t remain a ghost at the side of the living forever, Mia did not resist. Regrettably, but looking to her own future—curious to know what was to come in the next life—Mia said goodbye to Phoenix and Maya, letting herself be pulled away once and for all…

And found herself in her own body, whole and living, at the gates of the city Paixao.
